Hahn Air Line’s Britta Carrera y Sondermann, First Officer & Manager Development and Planning, has been appointed Vice-Chair for the Hazard Identification Technical Group (HITG), one of IATA’s Safety Group subgroups.
The role of the HITG provides industry input to the IATA Safety Group (SG) about hazards spanning the global sphere of commercial air transportation and captures hazards on to the Hazard Registry. One of the key inputs to the HITG is the semi-annual Safety Issue Review Meeting (IRM), which the HITG is responsible to organise. The HITG is also responsible to identify and provide supporting information on hazards that require industry action, to the Safety Group for their consideration.
Carrera y Sondermann commented: “I am honoured to represent IATA member airlines within this subgroup and beeing an advocate for a safer aviation industry. Together with the other group members, I hope to improve the hazard registry and share this information to the industry.”
