Hahn Air celebrates 40 million insolvency-safe tickets sold
20 February 2020
Hahn Air is celebrating the milestone of 40 million insolvency-safe tickets sold. The figure counts tickets issued since 2010 when Hahn Air introduced the free ticket insurance Securtix®. The insurance guarantees reimbursement if a flight issued on an HR-169 ticket with any of Hahn Air’s more than 350 partner airlines is cancelled due to insolvency of the operating carrier.
Hahn Air was the first provider to introduce this kind of insurance and it is still the company with the most comprehensive insolvency insurance in the market. Any flight issued on an HR-169 ticket is automatically protected against the consequences of insolvency and it also caters to stranded passengers who have already started their journey before the insolvency occurred. In this case, Hahn Air offers a refund for the unused part of the ticket plus the difference between the original and the new ticket up to a total amount of € 125. The insurance also covers the costs for meals and hotel accommodation (up to € 75) and other extra expenses like transfers and phone calls (up to € 50).
“The scope of our insolvency insurance is unparalleled in the industry”, says Kimberley Long, Vice President Sales and Agency Distribution. “With the introduction of Securtix ten years ago we addressed the needs of our travel agent community and we are proud that this service has been so well accepted. For travel agents, it is a great sales tool that protects the money of their clients.”
“Hahn Air is making our ticketing lives so much easier and Securtix gives us additional peace of mind”, says travel agent Stephen Howard from South Africa. And Zoltan Holczinger, a travel agent from Hungary, comments: “We can issue those airline tickets or connections that are not available in the Hungarian BSP. Above all, the greatest advantage for us and for our customers is Securtix which gives us reassurance with less known airlines and protection in case of problems or bankruptcy. I definitely recommend Hahn Air to all my colleagues and travel agents.”
