In January 2010, Hahn Air began its change over to automated insolvency-insured ticketing for all of its 200 partner airlines. Today, and within a year (and a total of 233 partner airlines), 3,002,186 insolvency-safe tickets have been issued on HR-169 e-documents. This equates to 5455 Airbus A380s, fully booked, for a year.
In collaboration with Generali Versicherung AG, Hahn Air is the first airline to offer the guarantee that all passengers with a HR-169 e-ticket will receive a full refund of the ticket price in the event of bankruptcy of the company, or the operating airline. Therewith, 85,000 IATA-accredited travel agents and their clients around the globe are ensured payment protection.
